Overview
GoMount 1.4 is a feature-packed release that makes managing NAS and cloud storage on macOS faster, more transparent, and easier to navigate. Whether you want to report a bug with a screenshot, speed up common folders, or build dynamic searches that follow your files, this release has something for you.

In-App Feedback
Reporting issues no longer requires digging through log files or writing emails. GoMount 1.4 includes a built-in feedback system that lets you submit bugs, feature requests, and general comments directly from the app.
How to send feedback
- Open GoMount Settings from the menu bar.
- Go to the Feedback tab.
- Choose a category:
Bug Report,Feature Request, orGeneral. - Describe what happened. The form automatically attaches recent logs.
- Optionally check Include screenshot to attach the current app window.
- Click Send. The submission uses a three-tier fallback path to maximize delivery even when the primary endpoint is unreachable.
Pro tip: If a mount fails repeatedly, open Feedback immediately after the failure so the attached logs contain the relevant error window.
Optional Analytics
GoMount 1.4 introduces privacy-focused, opt-in analytics. When enabled, the app sends a small heartbeat and anonymized feature events so we can see which capabilities matter most. All events are signed with HMAC and contain no file names, paths, or credentials.
What is collected
- A daily heartbeat with app version and macOS version.
- Feature usage events such as "mounted share", "opened File Hub", or "created smart folder".
- Crash-free session indicators.
What is never collected
- NAS credentials, passwords, or keychain items.
- File names, folder paths, or file contents.
- IP addresses or network names.
You can enable or disable analytics at any time in Settings > Privacy > Share Usage Statistics.
Path Favorites
Favorites put your most-used directories one click away. Each schema in File Hub keeps its own favorite list, so work and personal folders stay cleanly separated.
Adding a favorite
- Open the File Hub and navigate to a folder you use often.
- Click the star icon in the toolbar, or right-click the folder and choose Add to Favorites.
- The folder appears in the Favorites section of the sidebar.
Removing or reordering
Right-click a favorite in the sidebar and select Remove. To reorder, drag favorites up or down. Favorites are stored locally and sync with your GoMount license across Macs.
Grid Selection & Copy/Paste
The File Hub grid now behaves more like Finder. You can drag a selection rectangle across icons, hold Command to toggle individual items, and hold Shift to select ranges. Once selected, files can be copied to the macOS pasteboard and pasted elsewhere.
Supported shortcuts
Command + A— Select all visible items.Command + C— Copy selected files to the pasteboard.Command + V— Paste files into the current folder.Command + Shift + V— Move files instead of copying.Delete— Move selected files to trash where supported.
Note: Paste operations work between GoMount and Finder. If a file with the same name already exists, GoMount automatically appends a number to avoid overwriting.
Smart Folders
Smart Folders save search conditions and update themselves automatically. Instead of browsing deep folder trees, you can create a saved query like "all PDFs modified this week" or "images tagged Invoice".
Creating a smart folder
- Open File Hub and click the search field.
- Enter a name pattern, file type, tag, or date range.
- Click Save as Smart Folder.
- Give it a name and choose a schema. The smart folder appears in the sidebar.
Editing and deleting
Right-click a smart folder in the sidebar and choose Edit Criteria to change the query, or Delete to remove it. Smart folders are scoped to the schema they were created in, so personal and work queries never mix.
Coming in 1.5: Smart folders will be grouped in the sidebar and can execute their saved search with a single click.
Telemetry Rewards
To thank users who opt into analytics, GoMount doubles several Free-plan quotas while analytics remain enabled:
- NAS devices: 1 → 2
- Cloud storage accounts: 1 → 2
- File Hub schemas: 1 → 2
Rewards are applied automatically. If you later disable analytics, the quotas revert to the standard Free-plan limits. Existing mounts beyond the reduced limit remain connected until you remove them.
Privacy first: Rewards are purely a thank-you for helping us prioritize development. Analytics are strictly opt-in, and disabling them is always one toggle away.
How to Update
GoMount checks for updates automatically. To update manually:
- Click the GoMount menu bar icon.
- Choose Check for Updates.
- If version 1.4 is available, click Download and Install.
