GoMount Pro is tied to your purchase email, not a single Mac. That means one subscription can activate multiple personal Macs, keeping your NAS workflow consistent whether you are at your desk, on a MacBook Pro, or working from a home studio Mac.
This guide explains exactly how the license works, how to activate each Mac, how to manage your active devices, and what to do if you hit the device limit or need to move a license to a new machine.
What the GoMount Pro license covers
A single GoMount Pro subscription allows you to activate the app on up to three active Macs at the same time. The license is personal: it covers Macs that you own or primarily use, such as:
- Your work MacBook Pro
- A home iMac or Mac Studio
- A secondary Mac mini or test machine
If you need to move activation from an old Mac to a new one, you can deactivate the old device from any activated Mac or from the license recovery page.
Activating Pro on your first Mac
-
Download and install GoMount
Get the latest version from the download page, open the DMG, and drag GoMount into
/Applications. -
Open GoMount settings
Click the GoMount icon in the menu bar and choose
Settings. Alternatively, open the main window and press⌘,. -
Go to the License tab
You will see your current plan status. Free users see
Free Plan — 1 NAS device. -
Enter your license code
Type or paste the license code from your subscription confirmation email and click
Activate. Make sure your Mac is connected to the internet for the first activation. -
Verify Pro features
The License tab should now show
GoMount Proand list the email associated with your subscription. You can now add unlimited NAS devices.
Your license code is also your recovery key. If you lose it, use the license lookup tool on the homepage to resend it to your purchase email.
Activating Pro on additional Macs
Once you have an active Pro subscription, adding a second or third Mac is straightforward. The process is identical to the first activation:
-
Install GoMount on the new Mac
Use the same installer from the download page.
-
Use the same license code
Open Settings → License and enter the same license code you used on your first Mac.
-
Confirm activation
The new Mac is added to your active device list. You now have the same Pro benefits on this machine.
You do not need to purchase a second subscription. The same license code unlocks Pro on every Mac within your active device limit.
Managing active devices
You can see every Mac currently activated under your license from the License tab in GoMount settings:
- Open
Settings → Licenseon any activated Mac. - Click
Manage Devices. - Review the list of active devices, including the device name and the date it was activated.
The device list is read-only from the app. To remove a device, use the deactivation steps below.
Deactivating a device
If you reach the three-device limit or want to transfer Pro to a new Mac, deactivate one of your existing devices first.
-
From an activated Mac
Open
Settings → License → Manage Devices, select the device you no longer use, and clickDeactivate. -
From the recovery page
If you no longer have access to the old Mac, use the license lookup tool. Enter your purchase email and click
Manage Subscriptionto access your Paddle dashboard, where you can review and reset active devices.
Deactivating a device immediately removes Pro access from that Mac. If the old Mac is still signed in, it will revert to the Free plan the next time it checks the license status.
Troubleshooting activation issues
"License code already in use"
This message means you have reached the three-device limit. Deactivate an old device, then try again.
"Unable to verify license"
GoMount needs an internet connection to validate the license for the first time. Check your network, then click Retry. If you are behind a strict firewall, make sure api.gomount.top is reachable.
Pro features disappeared after reinstalling macOS
Reinstalling macOS counts as a new device identifier. Re-enter your license code on the fresh system. If you hit the device limit, deactivate the old macOS installation first.
License not received by email
Check your spam or promotions folder. If it is not there, use the license lookup tool or email support@gomount.top with your purchase email.
Frequently asked questions
Can I share my license with family or colleagues?
The license is personal to the purchaser. Sharing is not allowed under the End User License Agreement.
What happens if I exceed three devices?
The fourth device will show the Free plan until you deactivate one of the existing three.
Does the license expire?
Subscriptions auto-renew monthly or yearly depending on your plan. If payment fails or you cancel, you enter a 7-day grace period before reverting to Free.
Is there a difference between monthly and yearly licenses?
No functional difference. Yearly billing offers the best value and the same three-device limit.
